WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM THE STUDENT CLINIC:

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM THE STUDENT CLINIC:

  • You will be treated respectfully by both our staff, instructors and student massage therapists at all times. Your privacy will be respected in the massage room at all times.
  • Prior to the massage session, you will be given a health history form to complete prior to the massage session. Your student therapist will take you back to a massage room and review your health history. You'll receive clear instruction on undressing to your level of comfort, where to hang your clothes, etc. Please do not begin to undress until the therapist has clearly left the room to give you privacy. The student will give you ample time to get on the table, and be settled in between the sheets, before asking your permission to re-enter the room to begin the massage.
  • During the massage, our students are instructed to ask you only questions pertaining to your massage session, i.e. "would you like a blanket?" "how's the pressure"?, etc. and as instructed, they will not ask you any personal questions including your family dynamics, marital status, employment status, political views, religious views, nationality, etc.
  • Following your massage, your student therapist will let you know they are leaving the room and will give you final instructions including returning to the lobby. They will give you a feedback form to give you an opportunity to rate your session and leave comments on how your student massage therapist can improve on technique so they can learn from your comments.
  • If at anytime you have questions or concerns about your massage session, please ask to speak to the instructor or the director.

WHAT THE STAFF AND STUDENT MASSAGE THERAPISTS CAN EXPECT FROM YOU:

  • To be treated with respect at all times and to be addressed by their first name and referred to as student massage therapists and not the term masseuse. Pet names such as "hun, sweetie, cutie, etc." are not acceptable.
  • Please do not engage in discussion other than pertaining to your massage session, therefore, do not ask your therapist any personal questions including their family dynamics, marital status, employment status, their political views, their nationality or religion, etc.
  • Your student massage therapist is learning anatomy, physiology, massage technique and proper draping along with proper etiquette in the massage room. This is a new class of students, please adjust your level of expectation, keeping in mind they are new.
  • Your student therapist chose this profession because they have a caring heart and desire to help others by using their hands to help relieve muscle tension pain. That does not give you the right to touch them anywhere, at any time.
  • Please do not abuse this relationship, say or do anything inappropriate, or you will not be welcomed to participate in student clinic.

We appreciate your supporting our school and supporting our students in their valuable training.
